About

For over 90 years, Mystic Seaport Museum has been sharing stories of rich maritime history. Explore our grounds and transport yourself back in time for an experience of a lifetime!

Step aboard the 1841 whaleship Charles W. Morgan, a designated National Historic Landmark. Meet blacksmiths, coopers, printers, and carvers hard at work in our recreated 19th-century seafaring village. With 19 acres situated along the Mystic River we offer ample space for kids to play games on the Green, explore the waterfront or put their imagination to work at our playscape! Learn about navigating the stars and planets like ancient way finders at Treworgy Planetuarium. Want to get out on the water? Sit back and relax on a scenic cruise along the Mystic River aboard our launch Liberty or visit our boathouse to rent a row, sail or pedal boat!

Interested in learning how old trades are used today? Visit the Henry duPont Preservation Shipyard and watch our shipwrights use traditional tools and methods while working on one of their many projects happening throughout the year.
Explore world-class exhibitions of history, art, and more in one of our galleries. Don’t miss our new exhibit, Sargent, Whistler, and Venetian Glass: American Artists and the Magic of Murano, opening on October 15th, which brings life to the Venetian glass revival of the late nineteenth century and the artistic experimentation the city inspired for visiting artists.
