TRANSFER STATION GATEHOUSE ATTENDANT
Full-time, 38 hrs/wk w/benefits, must be able to work weekends
non-union, hourly, non-exempt
Starting Hourly Rate: $27.40/hour
Under the supervision of the Transfer Station Foreman, the Gatehouse Attendant performs the routine daily operational duties of the facility. The Gatehouse Attendant may assist with other station operations and will support the public and staff in a professional, positive, respectful, courteous and inclusive environment. The position involves monitoring the Town trash disposal and recycling facilities for residents of the Town of Stonington.
Graduation from a High School or GED equivalent, required. Minimum two (2) years of progressively responsible work experience, preferably related to the essential functions of the job including, but not limited to, excellent customer service skills, cash handling experience, experience with small landscaping equipment, sound judgement and the ability to work harmoniously with others. Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle Driver’s License. State of Connecticut Solid Waste Transfer Station Operators License, preferred, or the ability to obtain certification within one year from date of hire.
