WRITING TOWARD FORGIVENESS ~ POETRY WORKSHOP WITH ELEANOR KEDNEY

WRITING TOWARD FORGIVENESS ~ POETRY WORKSHOP WITH ELEANOR KEDNEY

Sunday, August 11, 2024 (1:30 PM - 4:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

Writing Toward Forgiveness is a generative poetry workshop created and facilitated by Eleanor Kedney, an award-winning writer and dynamic speaker. Eleanor’s book, Between the Earth and Sky (C&R Press, 2020) is an intimate exploration of addiction and a sister’s journey through grief, understanding, and forgiveness. Writing Toward Forgiveness was inspired by that journey and the techniques Eleanor utilized in her writing. While the theme of this workshop may elicit deeply personal reflection, it is a craft-focused presentation inviting participants to explore both universal and personal experiences through the art of writing. When it debuted at the 2023 Arizona State Poetry Society conference, the workshop received high praise from the ASPS members and organizers. When a participant called the process “life-changing,” Eleanor committed to bringing the opportunity to more people to develop their voice and express the emotions of forgiveness. Space is limited. Bring your own preferred paper or digital writing implements. Registration is required. Tickets are $30. PRESENTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE JAMES MERRILL HOUSE.
