Join us for a celebration of Herman Melville’s birthday with a marathon reading of Melville’s classic American novel, Moby-Dick! Bring a copy of the novel, read a chapter or two aloud, listen to the words by lantern light, and await a few other surprises in store! The reading will begin at 12:00 p.m. on July 31. Participation is included with Museum admission, membership, or staff/volunteer badge. If you'd like to read a chapter (or several) during the marathon, chapter sign‑ups will be available during the event no more than 10 chapters in advance. Registration is required for those staying overnight on the Charles W. Morgan. Registrants ages 13-17 must be accompanied by an adult. Overnight registration may be booked by entering information below or through Central Reservations at 860-572-5331 while space is available! This is the only overnight event on the Charles W. Morgan, so don’t miss out!
