This two-day waterfront celebration will honor the 250th Anniversary of the U.S. Navy with vessel tours, maritime skill challenges, and more. Children who arrive on Saturday morning can get their face painted for and make a costume for free to JOIN in the Mermaid & Privateer Children’s Walking Parade at Noon at City Pier on the New London Waterfront Park! Enjoy Songs of the Sea live music performances at the Parade Plaza, delicious food, and the stunning views of the Thames River. Join us on Saturday at 7:30pm for the historical Burning of Benedict Arnold March of the Traitor along Bank Street! Wear period garb to fully immerse yourself in this historic event dating to 1782! Join us to celebrate The JAWS 50th Anniversary Experience, with the Orca boat, authors, meet and greets and one-of-a-kind merchandise. Join us on September 6, 2025, at approximately 8:30 PM at the New London Waterfront Park for a breathtaking 300-drone light show over the Thames River, the first of its kind in Eastern Connecticut! This patriotic and family-friendly spectacle will be synchronized to music, lighting up the night sky with vibrant, choreographed displays honoring 250 years of the U.S. Navy’s service and legacy. Watch as drones form iconic naval symbols, American flags, and messages of unity and pride, an unforgettable tribute, perfect for all ages. Viewable from Downtown New London.
