Better Together CT Inc. Farm & Sanctuary is pleased to announce that we will begin hosting our “Stone Soup” Farm to Table Dinners next month. These dinners will be held in November, April & July each year. The story of Stone Soup originated in Europe and there have been many versions that have evolved over the years. Basically the stone and water were used as the base. The people that gathered together around the kettle each contributed something to the soup while it was simmering… a little spice, a bit of their own harvest, their talent. The people shared stories, song and sometimes dance. At the end of the evening everyone had come together and enjoyed a delicious meal along with great story telling and music. The moral of the story, at least from our perspective, is that we are all Better Together and that we all have something to contribute to the greater good in our communities. We hope that you can join us for our inaugural Stone Soup Farm to Table Dinner on Saturday, November 5th at the Country Wellness Event Space. We will be serving up Butternut Squash Bisque(vegan), Beef Stew and freshly baked bread. For desert we will have coffee/tea and a variety of freshly baked pies. We will be using our very own organically grown butternut squash and other vegetables. We will have great live acoustic music by Dave & Phil of Soulshot, Hannah’s Field and Mixashawn. Donation is $25 per person or $50 for family of 4. We will also be collecting non-perishable items for the North Stonington Food Bank at each of these dinners. Please bring what you can to be shared with your neighbors in need. Tickets can be purchased in advance online at www.BetterTogetherCT.org We would also like to say Thank You to Pfizer Community Foundation for their financial support of our Field Days 2022 Program. We also would like to thank and recognize the many volunteers who participated and worked on the farm throughout the growing season. We are very excited about our collaboration with UCONN and Professor Matt DeBacco CAHNR Cannabis programs to provide hands on learning to students. We have been so blessed to have so much continued love and support not only from the local community but from our friends and family who have come from as far away as Florida, South Carolina, Maryland and Pennsylvania to help with our programs and events. We are looking forward to 2023 and being able to help and serve even more members of our community through programs we will be offering.
