MUSIC MATTERS: AVERY ENSEMBLE ~ALIGNED CYCLES
Saturday, February 22, 2025 (5:00 PM - 7:00 PM) (EST)
Description
Three heavenly chamber and solo works will fill the hall with alternately intimate and unbounded music making, a richly rewarding afternoon in the depths of our New England winter. The Avery Ensemble‘s press kit characterizes them as “greater than the sum of their parts”. Their performances unify seemingly disparate musical themes through distinctive instrumentation. As they begin, Schubert’s songful “Rosamunde” Quartet will draw us straight into chamber music’s loveliest reaches. The ensemble then paves a sumptuous sonic boulevard from Debussy’s ecstatic L’Isle Joyeuse, a gleaming piano solo, to the beautiful contemporaneity of Thomas Adés’ celebrated Piano Quintet. This’ll be a gorgeous chamber afternoon! Advance tickets $25 ONLINE ONLY. A limited number of tickets may be available at the door on a first come, first served basis! Please note: ALL seating is unreserved. To ensure a good seat, please arrive early; doors open at 4:30 pm.
