Drawing: Seeing Differently

Drawing: Seeing Differently

Thursday, April 16, 2026 (4:30 PM - 6:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

AGES 11 - 14 Taught by Deb Pardue. Discover how to see and draw the world in a new way in this engaging class that builds confidence and creativity as an illustrator. Inspired by Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards, this class helps students unlock their creative potential by shifting from left-brain logic to right-brain visual understanding. Through guided exercises, such as upside-down drawing, exploring negative space, practicing contour drawing, and applying the four basic skills of drawing, students learn to quiet the left brain and engage the right. These activities strengthen observation skills and reveal how perception shapes art. By the end of the session, students have new drawing techniques, a sharper eye, and a fresh perspective on what it means to be an artist. 5-week series Thursdays, 4:30 pm – 6 pm April 2 – May 7 (No class April 30) Members $115 / Nonmembers $135 All supplies included with registration.
