Downtown Mystic Resiliency & Sustainability Plan Mid-Project Open House

Tuesday, May 2, 2023 (4:30 PM - 6:30 PM) (EDT)

Description

The Town of Groton is developing a plan to improve the resilience of Downtown Mystic. The plan will identify community actions needed to prepare for coastal flooding, sea level rise, erosion, and rising temperatures. Public participation is essential. Three public workshops will be held during the plan development period; this is the announcement for the second workshop. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. The workshop will be held open-house style with informational tables on existing conditions, hazards, and preliminary vulnerability assessment results. Representatives from the Connecticut Institute for Resilience and Climate Adaptation (CIRCA) will also be sharing results from the Mystic River Modeling Study. Participants will be encouraged to complete a survey to share input on the types of resilience approaches that should be considered when developing the Plan. Attendees are welcome to attend during any part of the 4:30-6:30 window. A brief presentation will be held at 5:15 to overview the project’s progress and next steps.
