General Israel Putnam, as portrayed by UConnProfessor Emeritus Kenneth Noll, visits the Groton Public Library on Thursday,September 3rd at 6:00 PM. A beloved and honorable farmer and American patriot,Gen. Putnam vividly comes to life through storytelling. He recounts his days onthe farm, his time as a tavern keeper, his service in the French and IndianWar, and his role as second-in-command to General George Washington during theRevolutionary War.
