The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce Launches ‘Community Proud, Celebrating Those That Live and Work Among Us!’ presented by CorePlus Credit Union. 

The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce is launching its new campaign, ‘Community Proud, Celebrating Those That Live and Work Among Us!’ presented by CorePlus Credit Union.

“We believe in celebrating the community heroes who live among us—maybe it’s a Stonington lifer, or the person with that interesting story who connects to the community in a meaningful way, or the third generation tradesman who carries on their family name,” said Bruce Flax, President of the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce. “This series is designed to spotlight the heartbeat of the community!”

Our inaugural feature is Randy Brooks of Grover Insurance, a resident of Mystic for more than 50 years. 

Our first feature spotlights Randy Brooks of Grover Insurance. Thanks to Randy Brooks leadership, downtown Mystic has been fortunate to have a thriving professional independent insurance agency, Grover Insurance, which has been a steadfast presence. The agency originated in 1932 with Randy joining in 1967 and became owner in 1982.

 Randy and his wife, Lee, moved their family to the area in 1967 after having been an underwriter with The Hartford Insurance Company in Hartford. His daughter Janet became an additional owner after joining the agency in 1993. Grover Insurance became a pillar of the community as one of the longest running businesses in Mystic, uniquely under one owner. Randy and his team proudly continue to assist homeowners and businesses with their insurance needs. He and his wife raised their two daughters in the community and presently reside on Masons Island.
