Mystic Celebration of Black History Month
Join the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce (in partnership with the Mystic & Noank Library, Kevin Booker Jr., and Inonda C. Peterson) for the 5th Annual Celebration of Black History Month on Saturday, February 28, 2026 in Mystic, CT. This community event honors the achievements, culture, resilience, and enduring contributions of Black leaders, artists, educators, and changemakers.

The day begins at 10:00 AM at The Anchor (corner of Route 1 & Holmes Street) with a performance of the Black National Anthem (Lift Every Voice and Sing), followed by a march to Union Baptist Church for a morning program themed around expressions of freedom. Attendees can expect inspiring speakers, meaningful storytelling, and programming designed to educate, uplift, and bring the community together.

Following the morning program, everyone is invited to lunch at Union Baptist Church, offering fellowship and community connection. The celebration honors history and heritage while celebrating the voices shaping our future.

All are welcome to participate in this free, community centered celebration of culture, history, and unity.
