In 2020, Kim and Yuri Grijalva made the journey from West Palm Beach, Florida, where they cherished their land and horses, back to their roots in the Northeast.

They embraced a new chapter focused on raising cattle and cultivating food for themselves and their community, acquiring a historic 300-year-old homestead in North Stonington, set on 103 acres. Named 100 Acre Wood, the property offers pastoral views and now features a farm store offering Texas Longhorn beef from their own Grijalva Cattle Co. and a selection of other local products, along with a charming guest house known as Owl’s House.

“Our agent in Connecticut called and said that this house opened up,” remembers Kim Grijalva. “So, we flew up on a Friday during a blizzard and saw the property under several feet of snow and fell in love with the land.
