Dime Bank Awards TVCCA $3,500 for Emergency Client Assistance
Thames Valley Council for Community Action (TVCCA) received a $3,500 grant from the Dime Bank Foundation to replenish the Emergency Client Assistance Fund, a resource that allows case managers to quickly resolve an array of financial setbacks faced by low-income households. “These funds couldn’t have come at a better time,” said Community Services Director Jason Martin. “For many of the people we support, a single unanticipated expense – whether it’s a medical bill, a potential utility shutoff, a rent penalty, or a car repair – can be disastrous to an individual’s or a family’s security.”
The grant will provide emergency assistance for approximately ten struggling households (25-30 individuals) over the next 12 months. “The purpose of this fund is to furnish just enough assistance at just the right time to help clients maintain momentum and continue their progress to greater levels of self-sufficiency and financial stability,” noted Martin. “We can’t thank Dime Bank enough for its continuing support of our programs that help people in need in our region.”
