Enjoy Dirty Blue Shirts interactive “show-and-feel” look at the clothing worn in the early days of the new Republic. While Europe’s salons embraced Regency fashion, Americans were beginning to develop a distinctly Federal style of their own. This program explores how we kept up with European trends while also putting our own unique stamp on international fashion. The Dirty Blue Shirts is an experiential history collective of living historians, scholars, and artists based from Eastern Connecticut.
