The iconically brisk “Molly on the Shore” by Percy Grainger precedes the newly commissioned alto saxophone concerto “Time Unfolding” by Alexandra Gardner, featuring soloist Senior Chief Musician Joshua Thomas. Pierre Leemans’ charming concert march “March of the Belgian Paratroopers” is next, and the emotional and retrospective “Rudolf and Jeanette” by Gerard Schwarz follows. Paul Hindemith’s thrilling “March” from Symphonic Metamorphosis closes the program.
