Taught by Laura L. Gorian. Beyond basic pastel methods and techniques, this class explores taking your knowledge to the next step. We’ll begin with working with a variety of materials to create our own unique surfaces for our pastel paintings. We’ll work with under washes to kickstart our work and learn to manipulate materials to achieve distinctive effects. Join us in this exploration of pure pigment Pastels and broaden your skills.  This course explores methods beyond basic methods.  Creating surfaces using modeling paste, Matt gel medium, gesso w/pumice, textural spray  Use of liquid fixative  Washes for underpainting  Use of monotype as a starting point.  Advanced pastel techniques. 5-week series Tuesdays, 2pm – 4:30pm January 20 – February 17 Members $210 / Nonmembers $250.
