Description
Taught by Bruce McIntyre.
This workshop offers a beginner-friendly introduction to basic woodcarving tools and
techniques. Participants become familiar with carving gouges, veiners, V-paring tools,
and fishtail chisels, and learn how wood grain affects the use of each tool.
Students start by carving simple arcs with all tools, then move on to carving basic
shapes to build skill and confidence. There is also an opportunity to refresh the bevel on
the tools and, if time allows, practice basic sharpening.
This free workshop is designed for anyone interested in learning the fundamentals of
woodcarving.
