INTRO TO WOOD CARVING: FREE WORKSHOP
Saturday, April 11, 2026 (1:00 PM - 3:00 PM) (EDT)
Description
Bruce McIntyre
This workshop offers a beginner-friendly introduction to basic woodcarving tools and techniques. Participants will become familiar with carving gouges, veiners, V-paring tools, and fishtail chisels, and learn how wood grain affects the use of each tool.
Students will start by carving simple arcs with all tools, then move on to carving basic shapes to build skill and confidence. There will also be an opportunity to refresh the bevel on the tools and, if time allows, practice basic sharpening.
This free workshop is designed for anyone interested in learning the fundamentals of woodcarving.
