Description
Taught by Howard Park and Lisa Miceli.
Learn how colorists use color contrast and color balance to create daring, vivid works of
art. In this class, you’ll explore the colorist approach by applying it to a typical realistic
landscape painting, discovering how to create landscapes that are tonal and moody or
vibrant with sun-filled areas and light-filled shadows.
You’ll learn to use the color wheel as a completely different tool, gain a deeper
understanding of the placement of analogous and complementary colors, and begin to
see value instead of just color. You’ll also learn how to design a color wheel from your
own palette, helping you use color more effectively to create a strong sense of light and
atmosphere in your landscapes.
All levels of students are welcome.
