Art from Life Session 2: Developing Texture and Surface

Taught by Laura Levine. This course continues the study of drawing and painting from observation, building on the fundamentals introduced in Session 1. Open to all skill levels, it focuses on exploring different textures and surfaces and learning how to interpret them in both drawing and painting. Students work from a variety of subjects as they practice seeing and translating visual details with clarity. As the session progresses, students also begin developing their own personal style, using solid fundamentals as a base. Because key concepts are always reviewed, beginners can start with this session and move at their own pace. Oil paint is recommended, though any paint medium is welcome. 5-week series Thursdays, 1pm – 4pm March 19 – April 16 Members $240 / Nonmembers $280
