Taught by D Derek.
In this workshop, you’ll explore a variety of acrylic painting techniques to develop your
own style of abstraction. Each session begins with a short video and reference
presentation highlighting notable abstract artists.
Through exercises based on nature, photos, or memory, you’ll move from “what is seen”
to “what is felt,” gradually shifting away from realism toward a more contemporary
approach. Using line, shape, color, value, and texture, you’ll reinterpret landscapes and
compositions in your own unique way.
The workshop focuses on experimentation, discovery, and finding the narrative in your
work. You’ll receive feedback throughout, and the small class size ensures plenty of
individual attention to help you grow as an artist.
This workshop nurtures both creativity and spirit. Traditional and abstract artists of all
levels are welcome.
