GMCC Spotlights Mary Arida in the ‘Community Proud’ Series, Sponsored by CorePlus Credit Union

The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce spotlights Mary Arida in the latest installment of the ‘Community Proud’ series sponsored by CorePlus Credit Union. Mary’s dedication to her community and her profession embodies the spirit of this series, which celebrates individuals making a positive impact on the Greater Mystic area.

Mary is a passionate Registered Nurse specializing in oncology and IV infusion therapy. She currently works at both The DRIPBaR in Old Saybrook and Yale’s Smilow Cancer Hospital, where she provides compassionate care to her patients. Mary holds a BSN and is inspired daily by the bravery, determination, and gratitude of those she treats.

Having lived in the area for over 20 years, Mary considers the Connecticut shoreline her forever home. Raised in Madison,, Mary developed deep roots in the community. Although she moved to Middletown after college, she continues to visit Madison weekly to stay close to her family and friends.

Mary’s commitment to giving back extends beyond her nursing career. She has participated in the  ‘Closer to Free Ride for Cancer’ and recently completed a 5k supporting Connecticut Children’s Hospital. These experiences, coupled with her work in oncology, have further fueled her passion for making a difference.

In her personal life, Mary cherishes time spent with loved ones, whether catching up with family and friends, reading, walking, doing puzzles, or practicing yoga. She credits her parents for their unwavering belief in her and their encouragement through life’s challenges. Mary’s also very thankful for her boyfriend for his steadfast support, reminding her to prioritize self-care and embrace change when needed.

When asked what makes Connecticut home, Mary replied “The shoreline will always be home to me. My family, friends, and childhood memories make this place feel special, no matter where life takes me.”

The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce is proud to celebrate Mary Arida as a shining example of dedication, compassion, and community spirit.
