GMCC Spotlights Maggie Jacksin in the ‘Community Proud’ Series Sponsored by CorePlus Credit Union

The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce is delighted to spotlight Maggie Jacksin in the latest installment of its ‘Community Proud’ series, sponsored by CorePlus Credit Union. Maggie, a seasoned professional in the hospitality industry, is celebrated for her genuine personality, bright smile, and unwavering commitment to her community.

Originally from Franklin, CT, Maggie has become an integral part of the Mystic community. Her dedication to fostering inclusivity is evident in her role on the Mystic Chamber’s Pride Committee, where she plays a crucial part in organizing the annual Pride event. Maggie’s philanthropic spirit is evident in her work with Charity Taps at Bank and Bridge, where $1 from every beer sold is donated to a non-profit. Her proudest achievements revolve around her ability to give back to causes she deeply cares about, embodying the true essence of community—where everyone helps everyone.

Maggie’s journey into the hospitality industry was inspired by her mother, who also worked in hospitality. From a young age, Maggie was fascinated by the intricacies of setting up weddings, plating food for banquets, and the creativity involved in the process. Today, she is a dynamic force in the industry, wearing many hats at work, from painting the historic columns at Bank & Bridge to designing new merchandise and managing a large staff. Her versatility and passion make her the true definition of a renaissance woman.

When asked what makes Mystic home, Maggie’s answer is simple: the water, the people, the love, and the community. Her passion for her work is palpable, and it’s clear that she genuinely loves what she does. Maggie’s commitment to making people happy is at the heart of her work, and she has spent over 17 years in the hospitality industry doing just that.

Maggie’s dedication to her community was particularly evident during the fire along the Mystic River in 2022. After closing Bank and Bridge on a Sunday night, Maggie made the decision to reopen, inviting anyone who had to evacuate due to the fire to come together in a time of need.

Bank and Bridge, a Veteran-owned brewpub, is just one of the establishments where Maggie’s influence can be felt. She also works for Snow Republic Brewing Co. in West Dover, Vermont, and is involved in the upcoming opening of Snow Republic Brewery in Brattleboro. All three establishments are owned by Walt Bansley.

Maggie’s heart and dedication are evident in everything she does. The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce is proud to feature Maggie Jacksin as an example of what it means to be ‘Community Proud.’
