GMCC Recognizes Keith Fields in the ‘Community Proud’ Series, Sponsored by CorePlus Credit Union
For over three decades, Keith has been a trusted figure at Foxwoods, serving as Branch Manager at the CorePlus Credit Union location. With 35 years in the banking industry and 27 of those with CorePlus Credit Union, Keith’s dedication to his work and his community is nothing short of inspiring. He’s become a go-to source for financial information and guidance—not only for patrons visiting Foxwoods but also for many members of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation.
Originally from New York City, Keith brings a friendly, neighborhood-style warmth to southeastern Connecticut. “I grew up in a very different pace of life,” he reflects, “but I still love greeting people, showing kindness, and truly caring for others—just like we did in my neighborhood growing up.”
Keith made the move to Connecticut in 1994 when his son was born, seeking a slower, more family-focused environment. His first job in the area was at Foxwoods, and over time, he transitioned to working at Connecticut Credit Union which would later merge with CorePlus Credit Union. He’s been with CorePlus ever since.
“Foxwoods has a unique energy,” Keith says. “The people are great, and the tribal members, credit union members, and prospective members alike feel like extended family. I feel a real sense of purpose coming into work every day.”
As Branch Manager, Keith wears many hats—whether it’s opening accounts, handling loans, fielding phone calls, or supporting his team. His approach is hands-on and heart-first, and his mild-mannered, polite demeanor has made him a trusted figure for many in the community.
“CorePlus is family-oriented,” Keith says. “They work with you, support your goals, and offer opportunities for growth—whether it’s through continuing education or internal advancement. It really feels like a place where people matter.”
Keith is also a lifelong basketball fan and has long supported local youth and high school athletics. He coached his son’s AAU basketball team and found joy in watching kids grow, evolve, and gain confidence through sports. “That experience really stuck with me,” he says. “There’s nothing like seeing progress and growth in young people.”
When he’s not working, Keith enjoys being at home, relaxing and spending time with his family. He and his wife have been married for 36 years, and he credits her as his “better half.” His son and daughter still live in the area, and being close to them is one of the main reasons Keith proudly calls this region home.
Keith exemplifies what it means to be Community Proud—bringing heart, wisdom, and dedication to the work he does every day.
