The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize Bob Davis of Sails Up 4 Cancer, as part of the ‘Community Proud’ series, sponsored by CorePlus Credit Union.  

A resident of Niantic, Connecticut, Bob founded Sails Up 4 Cancer (SU4C) in 2011 after his diagnosis of esophageal cancer. SU4C is a non-profit organization dedicated to funding education, prevention, care, and cures for all types of cancer through the art and enjoyment of sailing. Through Bob’s work with the Leukemia Lymphoma Society of Connecticut he’s been a four time leading fundraiser by sailing in regattas, a two time Leukemia Cup winner as well as two time chairman.

SU4C provides financial assistance to individuals going through the trauma and treatment of cancer. Under Bob’s leadership and with the help of volunteers, SU4C has become a beacon of hope for many. SU4C organizes multiple events, including the Annual Regatta, Cornhole Tournament, and Trivia nights. The organization has partnered with numerous local and national groups to raise awareness and facilitate fundraising efforts.

Through Bob’s never-ending dedication to helping  cancer patients  his volunteer spirit is palpable. The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce is pleased to highlight Bob Davis as an inspiring model of community engagement and philanthropic efforts.
