GMCC Honors Paul Vine in the Community Proud Series Sponsored by CorePlus Credit Union

The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce spotlights Paul Vine in the Community Proud series, sponsored by CorePlus Credit Union. Paul is a dedicated restaurant manager who brings a passion for both hospitality and community enrichment. Known for his warm personality and commitment to building relationships, Paul is an integral part of DK Hospitality, managing Surf Cantina in Westerly and Game Time Sports Bar in Groton.

Paul’s connection with the community goes beyond his role in hospitality. He has been deeply involved with the Stonington Schools Transition Program, collaborating closely with Gabrielle LaChance and her students for the past three years. Through this program, Paul helps young adults with intellectual disabilities learn essential skills by exposing them to different roles within the restaurant industry. "It’s incredibly rewarding to give back to the community, but it’s equally rewarding to see the students embrace new trades," Paul says.

A lifelong lover of people and positive experiences, Paul brings his expertise in customer service to every guest who walks through his doors. He specializes in crafting memorable experiences, often sharing his extensive knowledge of Surf Cantina's impressive tequila selection—over 90 varieties, each with a unique story. Paul’s professional background includes launching Sol Toro at Mohegan Sun and working at Michael Jordan’s Steakhouse.

Outside of work, Paul enjoys the coastal lifestyle of Westerly, where he’s lived for the past two years. Originally from Waterford, Paul loves being close to the ocean, finding peace in the scent of salt air and joy in his newfound love of surfing. He also enjoys hiking with his dog Gouda, spending quality time with his sons Brenden and Riley, and training in jujutsu at Whaling City Athletic Club in New London. His sons inspire him daily, pushing him to be the best version of himself both as a father and a leader in the community.

The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce is honored to recognize Paul Vine, whose dedication to hospitality, community involvement, and meaningful connections reflects the spirit of the Community Proud series.
