Supported by gallery owner Mara Beckwith, Catherine has developed a unique process in glass painting and fusing. Her fused glass enamel paintings can be viewed at St. Mary’s Church in Groton, CT, and All Souls Unitarian Church in New London. Additionally, she has completed large commissions for private homes and has shipped her work as far as Australia and the Bahamas.
For fifteen years Catherine studied under the late Nick Parrendo of the Hunt Studio in Pittsburgh, PA, who taught glass painting at St. Michael’s School of Sacred Art on Enders Island. Catherine’s dedication to artistry and reverence for sacred art and symbolism are evident in her creations, inspired by renowned artists such as Caravaggio, Michelangelo, and Rembrandt.
Beyond her artistic achievements, Catherine is also devoted to training and working with therapy dogs accredited by Pet Partners. She has visited hospitals and nursing homes with her Goldendoodle, Comet, and currently works with her Bernadoodle, Utah, who enjoys learning and kayaking with her in the summer. Catherine’s passion for giving back through the unique energy of partnering with animals is a testament to her compassionate spirit.
As a 15-year cancer survivor, Catherine embodies a philanthropic heart. Collaborating with Mara Beckwith, she actively participates in fundraising initiatives to benefit the L&M Cancer Center.
