Mystic Accounting Group, LLP is a full-service certified public accounting firm with locations in Mystic and Putnam, Connecticut. The firm is owned by Richard B Steele, CPA, N. Alex Bancroft, CPA, and Darlene Goldstein, CPA, and employs approximately twenty-three individuals. Services include all aspects of taxation (compliance, research, planning and representation before taxing authorities), accounting and auditing. 

Our tax practice provides federal and state income tax preparation and planning for individuals, businesses, trusts, estates and not-for-profit organizations, as well as gift tax returns and personal property tax declarations. Representation before federal and state tax authorities is also available as needed.

An integral part of the tax planning and preparation process involves forward thinking. Accordingly, we work with the attorneys and financial advisors of many of our clients in the areas of estate planning, gifting, retirement planning, college funding, and long-term care strategies.

Additional business services include bookkeeping and account reconciliations, cash flow and profit forecasts and projection, assistance with business plans and CFO or controllership functions on an as needed basis.

In addition to tax and business services, we provide accounting and audit services for financial institutions, not-for-profit organizations and small governments. Specifically, our firm has made a strong commitment to serving the financial institution (mainly credit unions) industry and as such we provide a myriad of services to approximately seventy financial institutions throughout New England, New York and New Jersey.  We currently serve financial institutions ranging from $1 million to $800 million in asset size.
