DESCRIPTION:OPEN CALL FOR PERFORMERS Youth On-the-Mic is an open mic series for 6th to 12th graders who want to perform\, sing\, or play music (whether original or covers) to an audience. Interested performers should be in 6th to 12th grade and live in Rhode Island or Southeastern Connecticut. \nNow in its 7th year\, Youth On-the-Mic is our alternative to the many adult open mics out there. These bi-monthly events provide kids and teens with a place to play and a community of music lovers eager to hear them. The event is designed as a pressure-free\, supportive place for kids to feel not just compelled\, but happy and secure to take the chance and perform what they have been practicing at home onstage. And not just any stage\, but the legendary Knickerbocker stage. \nPlease note that the Knick no longer has a working kitchen. Pre-packaged concession snacks and soft drinks will be available for purchase (cashless payments only). No alcohol will be served at this event.
