SUMMARY:Mystic Chamber Music Series Presents “The Shoulders We Stand On” Featuring Music from Brahms\, Beethoven and Bac
DESCRIPTION:It is said that music does not emerge from thin air\; instead\, music from the greatest composers builds upon that of those who’s shoulders they stood on. The program will touch on the influence that Brahms\, Beethoven and Bach had on one another – a journey through generations of musical inspiration all across Europe. This promises to be a fiery conclusion to the end of the season.\n\nThe Mystic Chamber Music Series is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to inspiring and growing audiences of all ages through engagement with chamber music performances in local historic venues. It’s musicians\, lead by cellist and Mystic local\, Thomas Readett\, hail from around the world\, but now call New York City home. \n\nThe MCMS was created to make the highest caliber of classical chamber music artists accessible to a wide variety of audiences in southeastern Connecticut. MCMS is expanding the musical offerings in southeastern Connecticut while enhancing the quality of its cultural life. Their mission includes bringing together masters of chamber music and new young talent to inspire future generations and foster a love for classical music.\n \n“The Shoulders We Stand On” will be performed at the Noank Baptist Church at 18 Cathedral Heights in Groton\, CT on Saturday\, May 31st at 5:30 pm.
