The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce recognizes Brooke Power as the newest nominee in the ‘Community Proud’ series, presented by CorePlus Federal Credit Union. This series celebrates individuals who make significant contributions to our community through their dedication, passion, and hard work.

A senior at Westerly High School and part of the Mystic community, Brooke has been a standout employee at Milestone since it opened. She has consistently demonstrated her love for working with people, particularly regular customers, and she credits her fun and supportive work environment for her success. Brooke’s colleagues and management alike recognize her as a "rockstar" in the hospitality field.

Michael Marshall, General Manager at Milestone, says, “Brooke is a very hard-working employee with good insight and hospitality skills that are warm and genuine. She is going to be successful in whatever she does. She has an incredible amount of drive and is going to go far.”

Peter Mine, Owner of Milestone, echoes these sentiments, stating, “Brooke has an old soul and is mature beyond her years. She could run a restaurant company someday. She has great awareness and knowledge in the restaurant business.”

In addition to her work at Milestone, Brooke has also made time to give back to her community through volunteer efforts at the Johnnycake Center and local blood drives.

When asked what makes Southeastern Connecticut home, Brooke responded, “People are always excited to be in the Mystic area, whether they’re tourists or locals, and everyone is always so nice.” Brooke’s enthusiasm for her work and dedication to making each interaction meaningful make her an asset to the local community.

Brooke credits her older sister, Madison, as her primary inspiration and hopes to follow in her footsteps. In her free time, Brooke enjoys the beach, exploring new places, and driving along the coastline. Looking ahead, she plans to pursue a career in marketing and business, driven by her passion for mastering her craft and piecing together the puzzles of her future.
