DESCRIPTION:Mystic Museum of Art will celebrate its 10th Museum Birthday this fall. Join us for artmaking for all ages and refreshments on the patio. Luxe CT: Velvet Mills to Modern Runways will be free from 4:30-7:00PM. Mystic Museum of Art (MMoA) has served as a focal point for the arts in southeastern Connecticut for more than 100 years. This organization was founded in 1913 by Charles Harold Davis\, Frances Darby Davis\, George Albert Thompson\, Lorinda Dudley\, Dr. G.S.B. Leonard\, Mary Williams Reed Leonard\, Elizabeth Tift Mallory\, and Reverend Albert Earnshaw. These artists shared the express goal to "erect and maintain an art museum for the exhibition of works of art of all kinds to promote cultural education\, historical interest\, local philanthropic and charitable activities\, and to develop the property surrounding said museum for the beautification of the Village of Mystic\, Connecticut." (Mystic Art Association meeting on September 19\, 1930) \nComposer Garth Stevenson will play a sunset concert beginning at 5:30PM on the Mystic River. Free and open the public. RSVP requested. \nParking validations will be provided to MMoA Members. Become a member today!
