Dr. Joshua Babcock Film Screening and Talk

In Celebration of America’s 250th, the UNITED and the Babcock Smith House Museum present a FREE screening of the short-film The Patriot of Kings County about Dr. Joshua Babcock.

The event will feature an introduction from Ed Fazio, past president of Babcock Smith House docents and a long standing Trustee of the BSH museum and tour guide who plays Dr Babcock in the film, and Betty-Jo Cugini, an award-winning media professional from Westerly with more than 35 years of experience.   

Dr. Joshua Babcock was a farmer, physician, postmaster, statesman, Revolutionary War general, Rhode Island Supreme Court justice, one of the three founders of Brown University, the first Rhode Islander to graduate from Yale, and a good friend of Benjamin Franklin. The film includes interviews with several local residents, including Timothy Babcock, a 10th-generation descendant of Joshua Babcock.
