Everyone knows James Bond preferred his martinis shaken, not stirred, but do you know why? How did this secret-agents tipple evolve into today’s ubiquitous Espresso Martini? The history of the Martini is as intricate as a spy movie plot, but few are familiar with how the most famous drink in the world came to be. Join Mystic’s own Anthony Caporale, author and producer of “The Imbible” series of hit New York musicals about the history of cocktails and spirits. We will learn how to make a Martini that would have made 007 give up his license to kill. Then we will jump into classic variations like the Manhattan, and of course we’ll perfect that Espresso Martini. A selection of Unique spirits will be provided by Spencer and Lynn Wine and Spirit Merchants of downtown Mystic.
