The event will include a captivating talk by Hampton Sides, known for his gripping narrative non-fiction works such as In the Kingdom of Ice, Hellhound on His Trail, and Blood and Thunder. Sides will discuss his latest book, The Wide Wide Sea about Captain Cook, with Rick Koster. Rick Koster has interviewed our previous authors Richard Russo and Erik Larson. He spent years as a professional rock musician before coming to The Day as an arts writer in 1997. He is the author of a horror novel set in New Orleans, GRIS-GRIS GUMBO as well as three earlier books, which, according to Rick, have all performed in such a fashion as to position Rick Koster as one of America's worst-selling authors. Hampton Sides is a renowned historian, journalist and best-selling author whose works have garnered critical acclaim and captivated readers worldwide. Snediker Yacht Restoration, a venue rich in maritime history, offers a unique and fitting backdrop for this special event.
